Alisa Stafa Mullaj is a professor of English Literature, a lifelong reader, and a passionate advocate for stories that connect across generations. She lives in Michigan with her husband, two children, and her beloved cat, Luna—who, as a kitten, often perched on her shoulder while she wrote and inspired one of the book’s magical characters.
Before Threads of Time, Alisa self-published two successful titles:
Expressions from a Teenager’s Heart (poetry, sold out)
Hope Love Heartbreak (short stories, sold out)
She leads a monthly local book club, champions up-and-coming writers, and is currently developing a free support group called Writers Motivating Writers to help aspiring authors find community and courage.
Her academic achievements include:
Outstanding Achievement in Poetry, International Society of Poets (2004)
Grant Writing Certification, Baker College of Auburn Hills (2008)
Child & Adult Care Services CTE Certificate (2006)
Academic Award in Pushkin Literature Studies, State University of Tirana (2019)
With Threads of Time, Alisa brings together her love for language, history, and emotionally resonant storytelling in a novel she believes holds a piece of everyone who has ever loved—and lost.

Expressions from a Teenager’s Heart
A heartfelt poetry collection capturing the raw voice of youth. Honest, introspective, and unfiltered, this debut gave readers a window into the early spark of Alisa’s literary journey.
Hope Love Heartbreak
A collection of short stories that explore the fragility and resilience of human connection. From fleeting moments of joy to the depths of sorrow, each story offered a glimpse into the emotional landscapes that would later evolve in her novel-length work.
While both titles are currently out of print, their reception built the foundation for Alisa’s growth as a storyteller and literary voice.
A space to connect, create, and be heard.
As someone who has walked the lonely path of a writer struggling to find support, Alisa is building a space she wished had existed when she first began.
Writers Motivating Writers is a developing community for aspiring authors—offering encouragement, creative feedback, and genuine connection.
